A Study on the Evaluation of the Socioeconomic Effects of Sugar Factories: A Case of Kastamonu

Since the first periods of Republic, great importance has been attached to industry in Turkey. One most important these is sugar factories. The adventure, which started with opened Uşak and Alpullu Sugar Factory, continued Kastamonu Factory 1963. In this study, it was aimed examine socioeconomic effects beet agriculture production on Kastamonu. For purpose, survey method, one quantitative research methods, used addition field studies carried out factory district centers (Center, Devrekani, Tosya, Taşköprü Seyçiler). With questionnaire applied 127 randomly selected farmers, measure parameters such as path followed by local farmer production, problems experienced, earnings, sowing harvesting.
